You cannot build a monument without a strong foundation. Or anything else for that matter. The same principle applies to our bodies: if we want to have a strong body, we must have a solid base and that base begins with our feet and ankles.... The rest of our body will compensate for that lack of mobility and we will be training incorrectly.
