Hullachan has a new design

Due to increasing concerns from adjudicators all over the world to see clearly the arch of the dancer’s feet, Craig Coussins had spent the past two years working on a new design called the Hullachan 2. In developing this design, partially based on his 1995 patented Hullachan design, Craig has in fact increased the support for the arch as well as increased the inherent comfort of the unique fit.  Craig was telling us that while certain other makers copy his patented designs without really understanding how the Hullachan actually works on the foot, Craig only makes shoes that are safe for the dancer, hence his phrase, ‘If its not got the Hullachan label then it’s not a Hullachan’. Craig tells us:

“I have been working on the design of a new style of Hullachan over the past two years. In answer to a number of adjudicators concerns that they were finding it sometimes difficult to see the arch of the foot with the black soles shoes I introduced back in 1995, The Hullachan is the preferred choice for many dancers from beginners to the World Champions and in bringing this new design to you I have also increased the comfort and strength of the new Hullachan 2. With our new strong special custom glue on the soles which are double stitched for extra security, soft leather and ‘Shockabsorba’ padded insoles to match the outer sole, the new Hullachan 2 will show how well you dance and how well the arch of the shoe fits your natural foot line”

Two sole colours?

There are two versions. One has a pale grey sole for competition dances as that emphasizes the arch and the other has a dark grey sole mainly for class work. This was based on the requirement from both dancers, teachers and of course the judges. Dancers and teachers like the darker sole for class while the judges like the lighter sole colour. Both shoes are padded in a special ‘Shockabsorba’ material that reduces impact injury and the unique outer sole defines the arch in a very special and supportive way.
